Building complex of the Beato Convent

The residential buildings of the Beato complex, identified as A1 to A9, are organized around two courtyards and have diverse origins and interventions.
Building A1 is the only completely new construction. It forms an angle with A2 and is detached from the old convent wall to allow for window openings.
A2 is based on an early 20th-century industrial structure, with its façades and metal framework preserved.
Building A3 is a 19th-century palatial residence, where elements such as the main door and railings have been retained, despite the necessary reconstruction of the upper floors.
A4, a former industrial mill with a distinctive façade, underwent an intervention that included the demolition of outbuildings and the complete reconstruction of the rear façade, while preserving the interior cast iron and wood structure.
The smaller A5 building, formerly used to support the factory, was minimally altered.
A6 required a new interior structure due to the advanced degradation of the original, but care was taken to preserve its industrial character, with only discreet modifications to the façade.
Finally, buildings A7, A8, and A9 are remnants of the old wards of the Royal Military Hospital. The ground floors were adapted for entrances, shared spaces, and uses compatible with residential living, while the upper floors were converted into housing. In A9, the double order of spans made it possible to create duplex apartments.
