Located in the former “Obrigado Barrack”, in Kaikoli, Dili, currently occupied by a series of pavilions that house, among others, the university, Unesco and UNICEF premises, the building shall inevitably stand out due to its size.
To avoid overly contrasting with the surroundings, we intend to develop a solution that is compact, of low height, and enables a rational layout of the interior spaces. We also aim to design a roof whose geometry helps integrate the structure with the surrounding buildings.
The design of the exterior spaces should provide a clear layout of the entry and exit routes for both pedestrians and automobiles, of the different parking areas and the garden areas surrounding the building, an important element for its urban integration.
