Risco was invited to present a bid and according to the briefing it should be a closed shopping centre, designed in line with the world's best and most modern examples. A sustainable building that will contribute to raise the level of Mozambique's architecture and property development.
For the internal layout we designed straight corridors articulated by circular "special places”. These spaces will put different levels in communication and will be shaped and illuminated by huge cone shaped chimneys.
On the outside, the challenge was to design a façade that could be iconic and inviting. A façade that would say "I am a shopping centre" in a contemporary manner. We designed a solution built with the shape of symbols and letters, forming a gigantic graphic image which creates a landmark.
